FAQ

CNSW Foundation Questions

The purpose of the Cricket NSW Foundation is to raise funds to invest into programs that allow everyone to experience the benefits that the game of cricket provides.  We believe that our programs will enrich communities and improve lives through cricket by enabling access to the game across NSW.

All money raised will go towards projects in the following streams

  1. Thriving Cricket Communities
  2. Youth Development
  3. Health and Wellbeing
  4. Female Engagement

All funds raised through the “Purchase-a-Picket” campaign will be used for projects that help us achieve our purpose; invest into programs that allow everyone to experience the benefits that the game of cricket provide.

Player Questions

Players who have represented New South Wales or any of the New South Wales BBL or WBBL teams (Sydney Sixers or Sydney Thunder) will be available to feature alongside on a picket at Cricket Central. You will have the option to have your name feature on the same picket as a representative player, be that a current or former New South Wales or Sixers or Thunder Player, a person from New South Wales who has played for Australia, or a NSW Cricket Legend. This includes all male and female players who have made their debut for New South Wales across all formats of the game. If following the selection of a picket with a player’s name, the player chooses to no longer be acknowledged on the picket, or there are other circumstances concerning that player that have come to the attention of Cricket NSW, we will advise you of this and offer you the option to either remove your name and receive a refund or select another player for your name to be alongside.

You have the option for your name to feature on the same picket as a current or former NSW player.

Tier 1 – Your Name – $500 donation

Tier 2 – Your Name + NSW State Player – $1,000 donation

Tier 3 – Your Name + NSW State player who has played for Australia – $2,500 donation

Each Tier is worth a different value. With all funds raised directed to projects that help us achieve our purpose; invest into programs that allow everyone to experience the benefits that the game of cricket provide.

The tiers were determined during 2022 and will be updated on an ongoing basis as players make their debuts, move on to higher representative honours for as long as the Purchase-A-Picket campaign is in operation. Once a player has been selected at a certain amount, that price has been locked in. Donors will not be asked to provide additional funds.

Players for whom Cricket NSW Foundation has the contact information for were sent an email communication regarding the initiative.

The players determined as NSW Cricket Legends are players who are either currently members of the NSW Cricket Hall of Fame, or who we believe will one day be inducted into the NSW Cricket Hall of Fame.

You are only able to have your name featured on the same picket as current and former NSW, Sydney Thunder, or Sydney Sixers players. If the player you would like to be featured alongside has never played for NSW, Sydney Thunder, or Sydney Sixers, they will not be included in the list of available players.

Once a player has been selected, they are no longer available. We encourage you to secure your name alongside your favourite player as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

If you believe an eligible player is missing from the list of available players, please email cricketnsw.donations@cricketnsw.com.au

If you are a player whose name is on our list or indeed a family member of a player available for selection, please get in contact with the Cricket NSW Foundation via email at cricketnsw.donations@cricketnsw.com.au

Product Questions

All plaques will be in place for a period of 10 years from the date of installation.

After the 10-year period you will be offered the opportunity to repledge your picket (providing CNSW Foundation continues to re-run the campaign). Or if not repledging, you will be able to receive the plaque (not the actual picket) in its current state (including the impact of weather and conditions) by contacting the Cricket NSW Foundation.

Cricket NSW reserves the right to remove the name of a player if circumstances should arise that warrant Cricket NSW to do so.  In this instance, the donor will be advised of this and offered the option to either remove your name and receive a refund, or select another player for your name to be alongside.

The Cricket NSW Foundation will endeavour to get plaques created as soon as reasonably possible following the donation. Plaques will be ordered in bundles and donors will be sent a confirmation of completed plaque placement. Donors will be invited to come and view their plaque once it is completed.

Unfortunately not, the order and arrangement of the plaques will be at the discretion of the Cricket NSW Foundation.
